Welcome to the Neighborhood

The San Fernando Valley is an action-packed community filled with things to see, places to go, and new adventures to try. With a rich artistic and cultural scene, there are always theater shows, dance performances, arts events, and ways to get involved. Whether you consider yourself an artist or simply like to experience the arts, it’s easy to do both in the Valley. Try a new type of restaurant before attending a local concert in the park. Shop for décor or a unique gift at one of the small boutiques, and then grab a coffee at the café on the corner. The Ventura Blvd district is filled with opportunities like these, and offers a special kind of ambiance during any time of the day.

For the outdoor enthusiast, there’s plenty to do as well. Coldwater Canyon is a beautiful place to explore near The Excelsior. Other city parks, gardens, and recreational spots are easy to find, too. The Universal City Walk is another way to get out on a beautiful day while also checking out lots of entertainment options. And every Sunday, all year round, the Farmer’s Market is an open-air event with fresh produce, handmade goods, and fun for the whole family.

Adventures Beyond

There’s much to see and do within just a few steps of The Excelsior’s front door. But sometimes you need to travel farther out, whether you commute to work in Los Angeles or simply want to spend a day beyond the Valley. The Excelsior’s location makes it easy to do both: The Universal City Orange Metro Line quickly connects Studio City to Downtown Los Angeles, Universal City, and Warner City, and also provides easy access to the 101 and 134 freeways.
